Former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale is in trouble with the youth in Malava constituency, Kakamega County, who claim he swindled them.

According to reports, Khalwale invited over 300 youths to attend a meeting with Deputy President William Ruto, promising them a Sh1,000 allowance each.

However, the youths claim they were left empty-handed and have been owed over Sh300,000.

The drama began when Khalwale defected to Jubilee after severing ties with his Ford Kenya party, where he was the deputy party leader.

He invited Ruto to show his clout in the county and hired loads of youth, including some from Malava, to attend the meeting.

But instead of paying them, Khalwale allegedly pocketed the funds meant for the youths.

The youths stormed an apartment in Malava town, demanding to be paid their dues, forcing one of Khalwale's foot soldiers, Moses Ambani, to flee for his life.

It is claimed that Ruto had released funds for the youths, but Khalwale pocketed it.

As Khalwale prepares to run for governor, the youths are demanding justice and payment for their alleged swindling.
