On July 9, 2019, a tragic incident shook the Thome estate in Roysambu Constituency, Nairobi. A woman, reportedly with a history of domestic issues, committed a heinous crime that left her family and community in shock.
According to reports, the woman attacked her husband, David Gitau, with an axe while he was asleep. She then proceeded to kill her two children before hanging herself.
Geoffrey Mwangi, the area's Nyumba Kumi Chairman, revealed that he had previously helped the couple resolve their domestic issues. However, it remains unclear what triggered the devastating incident on that fateful night.
Neighbours discovered the bodies of the family members and condemned the tragic event.
