On July 9, 2019, rain halted the World Cup semi-final between New Zealand and India at Old Trafford, with New Zealand at 211-5 off 46.1 overs.

According to AFP, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson had earlier made 67 after winning the toss, with Jasprit Bumrah leading a disciplined India bowling attack.

At the time of the rain stoppage, Ross Taylor was 67 not out and Tom Latham three not out.

The match was scheduled to continue on the same day, with an additional two hours' playing time to complete the match. A reserve day had also been scheduled for July 10, 2019, in case the match could not be finished on the same day.

India or New Zealand will face the winners of the second semi-final between hosts England and reigning champions Australia in the July 14 final at Lord's.
