A memorial service was held on Tuesday at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi to honor the late Jeremiah Kiereini, a respected business leader and former Head of Civil Service.

Jeremiah Kiereini passed away on May 14, 2019, and was cremated at a private ceremony two days later.

On Tuesday, government officials and top business leaders gathered to pay tribute to Kiereini, who was remembered for his leadership and legacy in the management of public and private sectors.

Attorney General Kihara Kariuki read a eulogy on behalf of President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying, 'To the young Mr. Kiereini is a good role model worth emulating in the management of public & private sectors, the companies he oversaw are living examples in our country…'

Other notable dignitaries at the memorial included Mama Ngina Kenyatta, Senator Gideon Moi, Royal Media Services Chairman Dr. S.K. Macharia, and the company's Director of Radio and Technical Services Fred Afune.

Jeremiah Kiereini was known for his leadership that spanned across top companies in Kenya, including CMC Holdings, Unga Limited, CFC Stanbic, and most memorably as Chairman of the East Africa Breweries Limited.

His 24-year stint at EABL saw one of the company's products tagged 'Kiereini waters.'

Five years ago, Kiereini launched his Autobiography titled 'A Daunting Journey.'
