On July 9, 2019, Serena Williams, a 37-year-old American tennis player, was fined Sh1.2 million ($10,000) for damaging one of the All England Club courts with her racquet.
The incident occurred during a practice session before the tournament began.
According to officials, the fine was given for 'unsportsmanlike behaviour' due to the court damage.
Williams was scheduled to play twice on the same day, facing fellow American Alison Riske in the semi-finals and partnering Britain's Andy Murray in the mixed doubles.
