Published on July 9, 2019, Gor Mahia is set to release at least three players ahead of the 2019/2020 season as the club works on realigning its squad.
Among those set to leave is Ugandan player Erisa Ssekisambu, whose jersey number has been handed to new signing Ronack Elvis.
Coach Hassan Oktay's decision to omit Ssekisambu from the Gor squad currently competing in the Cecafa Club Championship in Rwanda suggests that the Ugandan player is not in the coach's plans.
The club already has five foreign players, including Dickson Ambundo, David Mapigano, Shafik Batambuze, Hashim Sempala, and Francis Mustapha, which may have contributed to Ssekisambu's release.
Goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji and defender Pascal Ogweno are also set to leave the club, with their jersey numbers handed over to new recruits David Mapigano and Tobias Otieno, respectively.
