This archive report was first published on 9 July 2019.

A 15-year-old student at Nairobi School is fighting for his life after a brutal assault by prefects, according to a consultant radiologist's report.

The student's condition has deteriorated to the point where he requires urgent brain surgery, and his parents have withdrawn him from the school.

Nairobi School has denied the allegations, but the Ministry of Education is already investigating the matter.

The student's mother shared disturbing details of her son's condition, including that he is dazed, wears diapers, and has difficulty responding to his name.

Classmates reported that the student's behavior changed about 1.5 weeks ago, and he would often go to the wrong class and not wear his full school uniform.

A consultant radiologist's report after a CT head scan on July 8, 2019 revealed that the student has obstructive hydrocephalus, an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain.

The disease causes headaches, double vision, poor balance, incontinence, personality changes, and mental impairment.

The Ministry of Education has launched an investigation into the case and similar claims from other parents.
