Published on January 10, 2022, Prof. Anyang Nyong'o, a prominent Kenyan academic and politician, has expressed his desire to see the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) bill strengthened.
Prof. Nyong'o believes that the current NHIF bill does not adequately address the healthcare needs of Kenyans, and he is advocating for changes to be made to ensure that the fund provides better services to its members.
According to Prof. Nyong'o, the NHIF bill should be revised to include provisions that will enable the fund to provide more comprehensive healthcare services, including access to quality medical care and financial protection for its members.
Prof. Nyong'o's call for the strengthening of the NHIF bill comes at a time when the healthcare sector in Kenya is facing numerous challenges, including a shortage of medical personnel and inadequate infrastructure.
