DP William Ruto Ridiculed Online for Flamboyant Launch of Street Lighting in Migori ¶
On Monday, July 8, Deputy President William Ruto faced ridicule on social media after launching street lighting in Migori County.
Many online users were unimpressed by the project, considering it too low-key for a deputy president.
Despite Ruto's apparent enthusiasm for the project, many users were left wondering why he was launching such projects when other leaders, such as MCAs, could handle them.
However, some users praised Ruto for his initiative, with Victor Amadala saying, "Tambueni @WilliamsRuto kwa kuwa naibu wa rais wa kwanza kuzindua mradi wa taa za barabarani."
Others, however, took to social media to mock Ruto for launching what they deemed to be "miradi mbali mbali," or unrelated projects.
One user joked, "Nimezindua kiamsha kinywa kama saa tatu zimeoita katika hafla iliyohudhuriwa na familia yangu. Nitazindua chakula cha mchana baadaye, chai ya jioni na chakula cha usiku."
