The Coffee, Tea and Chocolate Festival, dubbed The Journey of Taste, is set to take place in Nairobi, Kenya from November 22-24, 2019.
This marks the first time the festival will be held in Africa, and Kenya will be the first country to host it.
The three-day event will feature private trainings, innovation labs, interactive workshops, live stage shows, and education sessions on coffee tasting, chocolate making, and tea brewing.
Visitors will also get to experience latte art, sensory experiences, and a coffee cocktail bar.
General Manager of Four and One Worldwide Kenya, Obed Mutua, expressed excitement about showcasing Kenya's coffee, tea, and chocolate varieties to local, regional, and global players.
"Participants will get the chance to meet world Barista Champions, producers, distributors of their favorite products, as well as enjoy a cup of freshly-brewed coffee, tea, and favorite chocolate product," Mutua said.
The festival will also feature a championship segment with participants from across the region competing in four categories: National Latte Art Competition, National Barista Championship, National Chocolate Masters, and an Art Competition.
Coffee and tea industries have been key pillars of Kenya's economy, earning significant foreign exchange and creating millions of jobs.
However, the industry faces emerging challenges that policymakers must address to ensure its continued relevance and importance to Kenya's economy.
