Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 List Honours Karun ¶

Kenyan R&B singer Karun, formerly of the pop group Camp Mulla, has been named among the top 30 creatives under 30 in Africa by Forbes Africa 2019.
At 25 years old, Karun is part of the Creatives Category, alongside other notable artists such as Nigeria's Burna Boy and South Africa's Sho Madjozi, Boitumelo 'Boity' Thulo.
According to Karun, she was initially hesitant to share the news due to self-doubt and fear of being exposed as a fraud, or 'imposter syndrome.'
However, she expressed her gratitude and honour in a social media post, saying: 'As I celebrate a quarter-century on this planet, I'm forced to reflect on what a Fcking trip this has been! This past week has been quite challenging but I can't help but feel excited for what's to come! What's made this birthday even better was receiving news that I've been named amongst some of the greatest creatives on the continent such as @BurnaBoyGram, @PetitNoirVintage, Sho Madjozi, Shekhinah and more on the @forbesafrica 30 under 30 2019 list.'
She also mentioned that she feels 'so honoured' to be recognised among previous winners such as Tinashe, Cassper Nyovest, Yemi Alade, Kwesta, Davido, WizKid, and Nasty C.
As part of the music and art collective Cosmic Homies, Karun has performed at various festivals and shows across the globe, including SXSW 2015 in Austin, Texas, and the Africa Nouveau Festival in Kenya.
Forbes Africa reports that Karun is currently working on a full-length project and planning a pan-African and northern hemisphere tour.
Her goal is to become the biggest female R&B act out of Africa, as she says: 'The goal is to be the biggest female R&B act out of Africa. Watch this space.'
