On July 4, 2019, a shocking incident unfolded in Chepalungu, Bomet, leaving residents stunned. A 19-year-old girl, identified as Tabitha Chepkoech, allegedly killed her 22-year-old boyfriend, Kevin Kiptoo, at Kapkwen market, three kilometers from Bomet town.

According to reports, Ms. Chepkoech walked into the Bomet Central Police Station at around 7:30 am with a bloodstained knife, which she had used to stab her boyfriend. She reportedly confessed to the crime and surrendered herself to the authorities.

The body of the deceased was taken to Longisa County Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Detectives were dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident and determine the motive behind the killing.

Ms. Chepkoech's emotional state was described as unstable, and detectives were yet to take her statement. The murder weapon, a bloodstained knife, was taken into custody by the police.
