Kenyan politician Ken Okoth, Member of Parliament for Kibra, has returned home after a five-month medical trip to Europe for treatment of colorectal cancer.
Okoth, 41, was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer with metastases to the liver in early 2019.
He has been updating Kenyans on his medical condition and monitoring development projects in his constituency despite his illness.
Okoth's determination and strength have inspired many Kenyans, with Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja welcoming him back home and thanking him for his work.
“Joined my brother Ken Okoth and the people of Kibra for an exciting Music Festival earlier today. Welcome back home bro and thanks for the amazing job you and your team have been doing. Your strength and your determination inspire us all,” Sakaja wrote on Facebook.
Okoth has been using chemotherapy tablets to manage his condition, which cannot be cured but can be managed.
