On Christmas Day, a tragic incident unfolded at the Kedong Ranch in Naivasha, Kenya, where a police officer shot and killed his supervisor. Corporal Joseph Muthungu, the officer responsible, has since been arrested.

According to a preliminary investigation report, the incident occurred when Muthungu arrived at the camp drunk and got into an argument with his supervisor over his late return from night duty. The altercation escalated, resulting in Muthungu opening fire using a G-3 rifle before fleeing the scene.

Autopsy results revealed that the deceased suffered gunshot wounds to the left ear, shoulder, and lower knee. At the scene, police discovered five spent 7.62 millimetres cartridges.

This incident is part of a growing trend of police officers shooting colleagues or their spouses, attributed to stress-related challenges.
