Azam Media Crew Among 7 Dead in Road Accident

On July 8, 2019, a devastating road accident occurred in Tanzania's Shelui area, claiming the lives of seven people.

Among the deceased were five crew members of Azam Media Group, who were on their way to Chato to cover an event officiated by President John Pombe Magufuli.

According to sources, the crew members who lost their lives in the crash were camera men Said Haji and Charles Wandwi, switcher Salim Mhando, sound engineer Florance Ndibalema, and engineer Kasongo.

The accident occurred when the vehicle carrying the crew collided head-on with a lorry, resulting in three other people sustaining injuries.

Azam Media Group has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
