On July 7, 2019, Deputy President William Ruto visited Eldama Ravine in Baringo County, where he addressed concerns about the unity of Jubilee party.
According to Ruto, the claims of division in Jubilee party are mere propaganda by the Opposition to paint the party in a bad light.
“Jubilee is intact and it is not going to collapse, ng’o. The Jubilee idea was not an issue about Uhuru and Ruto instead it was formed purposely to unite and transform the lives of millions of Kenyans with the existing government programmes and policies,” Ruto said.
He also defended his weekend trips, stating that as Deputy President, he was elected to serve Kenyans and not just sit in Nairobi.
“I was sworn in to serve Kenyans in the capacity of Deputy President. I was not assigned cook tea, become a nurse or a soldier. The constitution allows me to go round to inspect and launch projects,” the DP said.
