On Sundays, Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, a murder suspect, finds solace in worship. A video shot by K24's Up Close with Betty Kyalo show on July 5, 2019, gives a glimpse of how he spends his Sundays behind bars.

During a church service at Kamiti Maximum Security Prison, Jowie was seen joyfully singing praise and worship songs with other inmates. The footage was shot when Betty Kyalo accompanied her guest, Rev Lucy Natasha, to the prison.

According to the video, Jowie looked happy and at peace, even smiling during the church service. The video has been shared on YouTube.

It's worth noting that Jowie was arrested in September 2018 in connection with the gruesome murder of 28-year-old businesswoman Monica Kimani at her apartment in Nairobi. He was accused alongside his fiancée, TV presenter Jacque Maribe, and has since made several court appearances.

Since his arrest, the only pictures and videos available have been those of him in court during the hearings. However, this video gives a rare glimpse of Jowie's life behind bars.
