Algeria's national team, the Fennecs, made a strong statement in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) championship, defeating Guinea 2-0 at the 30 June Stadium on Sunday, July 7.

Manchester City attacker Riyad Mahrez opened the scoring for Algeria in the 24th minute, with a stunning strike that doubled his side's lead 12 minutes into the second half.

Adam Ounas perfectly converted Youcef Attal's link-play from the right flank, making it three goals for the Fennecs and securing their spot in the quarterfinals.

Algeria's victory marked their fourth consecutive win in the competition, maintaining their unbeaten streak as the championship draws to a close.

They will now face the winner of the Mali and Ivory Coast match in their next game.
