On a typical Tuesday morning, December 7, Duncan Lumumba, a 26-year-old barber from Naivasha, went about his routine at the 'Black Shade' barbershop. However, little did he know that his life was about to change dramatically.
Before opening the shop, Lumumba had placed a Ksh50 bet on the Mozzart Bet portal, which would later turn out to be a winning ticket. The bet slip had won him Ksh145,577, a sum that would change his life forever.
Armed with the news, Lumumba embarked on a journey to Nairobi on Wednesday, December 8, to meet his youngest brother who was getting settled in college. However, the not-so-rude interruptions kept flowing.
At 3 am on Wednesday, Lumumba received a message from Mozzart Bet informing him that he was the winner of a car. He was to spend the day helping his brother get settled in, but the news of winning a car left him skeptical.
It wasn't until he met with the Mozzart Bet office on Thursday that the feeling of being scammed started to fade away. Lumumba was presented with the car keys of his Renault Kwid, and he couldn't thank Mozzart Bet enough for changing his life.
With the bet slip payout, Lumumba plans to expand his barber business to include a salon and offer more services to his growing clientele. He also plans to use the car for business purposes to supplement his income.
