On Saturday night, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) apprehended four Chinese nationals in Maganyi village, Vihiga County, for allegedly engaging in illicit gold mining activities without a permit.

The individuals, identified as Ou Haiwen, Zhang Jinyu, Jiang Hualin, and Huang Lei, are currently in police custody and are expected to be arraigned in court next week, according to the DCI report.
