On July 7, 2019, Migori County police officers arrested six students from Usenge Secondary School after discovering petrol and a jerrican in their dormitory.

According to reports, the students were suspected of planning to vandalize the school.

Confirming the incident, Bondo County Police Commander Antony Wafula stated that a jerrican of petrol was also found in the dormitory, suggesting that the students had planned to vandalize the school.

Wafula further stated, "We have arrested the six students while investigations continue to determine if they were indeed planning to vandalize the school after a petrol jerrican and a lighter were found in their dormitory."
