Uganda's national football team has officially parted ways with coach Sebastien Desabre following their elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations in the round of 16.

Desabre's tenure as head coach of the Uganda Cranes was marked by a successful campaign through the group stages, where they finished second behind hosts Egypt in Group A.

They secured a 2-0 win over DR Congo in their AFCON campaign opener, lost to Egypt in their second match, and secured a 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe to seal their place in the knockouts.

On July 6, 2019, both the Federation of Uganda Football Association (Fufa) and Desabre mutually agreed to terminate the contract between the two parties, citing the reasons for termination as the benefit and growth of both parties.

Desabre's decision to leave his role as Cranes head coach comes after the team's elimination from the 32nd edition of the continental tournament at the hands of Senegal.
