Chris Brown, the 30-year-old R&B singer, is facing a child support battle with his ex-girlfriend Nia Guzman over their five-year-old daughter Royalty.

According to court documents, Brown was ordered to pay $17,743 a month in child support in February, but Guzman claims he has yet to make a payment.

As a result, Guzman is seeking over $258,000 in back child support, in addition to the 'value of housing' that Brown agreed to provide.

Brown's alleged failure to pay child support has created a 'great hardship' for Guzman, who does not work and relies on him for financial support.

Published on July 7, 2019, court documents also accuse Brown of engaging in conduct that has increased the cost of litigation, including ignoring deposition notices and failing to respond to potential mediation dates.

The pair welcomed their daughter in 2015, but Brown was not made aware of her paternity until the following year.

Initially, their child support arrangement had Brown paying $2,500 monthly, but Guzman has since requested an increase in payments.
