Kenya's primary schools are set to make history by participating in the East African Games for the first time in Arusha, Tanzania, next month.

The national primary school games will take place in Meru from July 30 to August 3, where the team will be selected.

According to Mamai Etyang', the Kenya Primary Schools Sports Association secretary-general, the country has a huge pool of talent that will help form strong teams for the regional games.

‘We have a huge pool of talent that will help us form strong teams for the regional games,' Etyang' said.

Eight regions have confirmed participation in the games, including Rift Valley, Nairobi, Coast, Nyanza, Western, Central, Eastern, and Northern regions.

Defending champions Nyanza are in Pool B alongside archrivals Rift Valley, Western, and Nairobi in boys' football, while Coast is expected to give Pool B teams a stiff challenge.
