Published on July 6, 2019, thousands of Kenyans flocked to Gilgil to experience the thrill of the WRC Candidate Event Safari Rally.

From parents bringing their children to rally bases to fans from Uganda making a splash, the event was a perfect family outing.

"I travelled all the way from Eldoret to show my son the thrill which was part of our upbringing," said architect Solomon "Shube" Mwangi, as he enjoyed the event with his son, Mwaniki 7.

Ugandan fans, meanwhile, were dressed in fancy attire and blowing vuvuzelas, clearly attracting attention from fellow fans between rally action.

Next year, they plan to bring their rally idol Didas Masiko, further solidifying their presence at the event.
