Journalist Jacque Maribe has left Citizen TV, with sources confirming her resignation on July 5, 2019.

Maribe cited personal reasons for her departure in a letter to the station.

Her resignation comes as she and her boyfriend, Joseph Irungu, also known as Jowie, face trial for the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

Maribe was granted a KSh 1 million bail, while Jowie remains in custody, awaiting trial.

According to a colleague who wished to remain anonymous, Maribe's resignation may be linked to the ongoing trial.
