On July 6, 2019, a fatal road accident occurred on the Southern Bypass in Nairobi, claiming the life of city lawyer Karanja Kabage.
According to police, Kabage was driving a black Land Cruiser VX from the direction of Ole Sereni Hotel heading towards Kikuyu town when the vehicle veered off the road and hit a pavement.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle veered off to the wrong side of the road, slowed down, and appeared to be making a U-turn before hitting the pavement.
Despite efforts by a taxi driver and a good samaritan to save him, Kabage was pronounced dead upon arrival at Nairobi Hospital.
Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai has ordered the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate the cause of death.
