On July 6, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta was in Tanzania on an official trip when he received news of the tragic death of lawyer and prominent businessman Karanja Kabage in a car accident at Karen, Nairobi.
According to his close friends and family, Kabage was pronounced dead on arrival at the Nairobi Hospital after his car lost control.
President Kenyatta expressed his condolences to the family, friends, and relatives of Kabage, describing him as a 'resourceful person' who was always willing to offer legal aid to those in need.
Kabage was a prominent insurance expert who served as a director at African Reinsurance Corporation and First Reinsurance Brokers Limited.
He was also a regular panellist on NTV's AM Live show and had vied for the Nakuru senatorial seat in the 2017 General Election.
