Published on July 6, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed disappointment at not being able to return to Bob Collymore's house to collect a special gift, a Johnnie Walker Directors Blend whisky.
During the service at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, Uhuru stated that the whisky was not meant for Peter Kenneth and the Boys' Club, but for a special friend.
According to Uhuru, 'I was supposed to have gone back to collect my gift reserved for a special friend from Bob and so Peter Kenneth, Oigara and crew, you will pay. That did not belong to you.'
The Johnnie Walker Directors Blend is a limited edition whisky released in 2010, exclusively for Diageo directors.
Each bottle is uniquely labeled, and Uhuru's bottle was number 138.
The whisky is best served directly from the freezer and has notes of caramelised sugar and vanilla, fresh red berries with a touch of orchard fruit.
When sipped, it has a fruity, creamy palate taste, followed by a creamy note of caramel, manuka honey, and a hint of refined wood smoke.
The finishing taste is an allspice and nutmeg taste.
The 700ml bottle retails at Sh.460,000 with 46% alcohol volume.
