Published on July 5, 2019, Bandari's head coach Bernard Mwalala has named a 24-player squad to represent the team in the Cecafa Kagame Cup tournament.

Among the selected players is Harambee Stars goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo, who has been linked with Tanzania's Young Africans (Yanga) for several months.

Despite the rumors, Mwalala confirmed that Shikhalo remains a contracted player for Bandari.

“We've never been approached by Yanga and neither the player has told us of his interest to leave us, so we're not going to entertain rumors,” Mwalala said.

Bandari is set to make their debut in the regional event, starting their Group 'B' campaign against Uganda's KCCA on Sunday.

“We're going to Rwanda not to participate but as strong contenders for the crown,” Mwalala said. “We have high hopes of doing well in the tournament.”
