On Saturday, July 6, 2019, the women's hockey Premier League will witness a thrilling match between Lakers and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) at Kisumu Simba Club.

Lakers, who are the only other team besides champions Telkom to remain unbeaten this season, are placed third in the league with eight points. They have secured one win and five draws, with their only victory coming against Kenyatta University in a 1-0 match.

Team manager John Paul expressed confidence in their second-choice goalkeeper, Effi Anyango, who will replace the absent Millicent Adhiambo. Adhiambo, a 16-year-old student at Sinyolo Girls, is occupied with school work.

Paul emphasized that the team is ready for the challenge and that victory will be crucial in boosting their league standings. He also highlighted the team's full house in training since Wednesday, with players from Busia, Kakamega, and Homabay joining the team.
