President Uhuru Kenyatta landed safely at Chato Airport in Tanzania's Geita Region on Friday, July 5, 2019, for a two-day visit at the invitation of President John Magufuli.

During his visit, Kenyatta inspected a special military parade before the national anthems of both countries were played.

Speaking after his arrival, Kenyatta expressed his joy and gratitude to the people of Chato and Tanzania as a whole for the warm welcome.

"I am honored to be the first foreign head of state to visit Chato, and I have come here as a brother and friend," Kenyatta said.

He noted that it is easy to choose friends but difficult to choose neighbors.
