Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has shown solidarity with his successor Joyce Laboso, who has been undergoing treatment in an Indian hospital since May.
On July 3, Ruto flew out of the country accompanied by Chepalungu MP Gideon Koskei to visit Laboso, who was initially admitted to London's Royal Marden NHS Foundation Trust Hospital on May 29.
Laboso spent 27 days in London before being transferred to India for further treatment, as recommended by her doctors.
According to Bomet Chief of Staff Jayne Sigilai, Laboso was responding well to medication, but doctors advised her to be checked by another specialized medical team in India.
Laboso's deputy, Hillary Barchok, who visited her earlier in the week, reported that the governor was recuperating well and expected to be discharged soon to continue her work.
"The governor is doing well and we expect her to be released in a few days to enable her travel back home," said Barchok.
Isaac Ruto's visit joins the list of other leaders who have visited Laboso, including Opposition leader Raila Odinga and Chief Justice David Maraga.
