Published on July 5, 2019, a court found Nicholas Ole Moipei, chairman of the Kenya Cultural Center Council, guilty of contempt of court.
Moipei's actions led to the dismissal of acting CEO Edwin Gichangi, despite a court order on July 5, 2018, that barred him from doing so.
Gichangi took his case to the Employment and Labor Relations Court in December 2018, seeking to hold Moipei and former CEO Benson Kimoni responsible for disobeying the court order.
However, the court did not find Kimoni in contempt.
Justice Stephen Radido directed Moipei to appear in court for mitigation and sentencing on the following Monday.
