On July 1-3, 2019, the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the 'Summer Davos', took place in Dalian, China. Among the attendees were CEOs of the World Economic Forum's 2019 Technology Pioneers, a group of early to growth-stage companies from around the world that are leaders in new technologies and innovations.
DabaDoc, a Morocco-based startup that connects patients with thousands of doctors across Africa, was one of the two African companies recognized as part of the 2019 Technology Pioneer cohort. This achievement is a testament to DabaDoc's position as a true global leading technology innovator.
According to Fulvia Montresor, Head of Technology Pioneers at the World Economic Forum, 'Our new tech pioneers are at the cutting edge of many industries, using their innovations to address serious issues around the world.' The selection committee included a wide variety of panelists, including leaders from Huawei Technologies, Stanford University, and Nasdaq Inc.
