On July 5, 2019, a dramatic incident unfolded at the Northern bypass in Nairobi, where three suspected thugs were shot dead by police in a shoot out.
According to Kasarani OCPD Peter Kimani, the thugs were being pursued by police for allegedly stealing a Toyota Fielder from Umoja on Thursday.
As the police closed in, a shoot out ensued between the thugs and the officers, resulting in the injury of one police officer on the knee.
The thugs were shot dead inside the Toyota Fielder, which was riddled with bullets, and an AK 47 rifle was recovered by the police.
