On Thursday, President Uhuru Kenyatta addressed the late Bob Collymore's memorial service at the All Saints Cathedral, where he made a surprising revelation.

According to the President, he had reserved a special bottle of whisky for a friend, but it was instead consumed by Collymore's 'Boys Club' during a gathering.

Former presidential candidate Peter Kenneth, a member of the club, had earlier revealed that Collymore had shared a special reserve blended whisky with the group, reserving it for a special guest.

However, in a surprising twist, President Kenyatta revealed that he was the intended recipient of the whisky, leaving the club members to foot the bill.

“My one disappointment I was supposed to have gone back to collect something that had been reserved for a special friend, so Peter Kenneth, (Kenya Commercial Bank CEO Joshua) Oigara and crew you have to pay. That did not belong to you,” said Mr Kenyatta, sending the church into laughter.

The 'boys club' consists of prominent individuals, including businessman Ally Khan Satchu, Radio Africa Group CEO Patrick Quarcoo, politician Peter Kenneth, Citizen TV News Anchor Jeff Koinange, Scangroup CEO Bharat Thakrar, British High Commissioner Nic Hailey, and Kenya Commercial Bank CEO Joshua Oigara.
