Published on July 5, 2019, a mother from Belgut in Kericho County was left distraught after being verbally abused by her neighbor who had been inciting her daughter to run away from home.
The mother's daughter had completed her Form Four exams the previous year and was at home helping her parents.
According to eyewitnesses, the neighbor had gone to the mother's home and found her daughter who was still at home, and began inciting her to run away from home.
The mother was left shocked and speechless after being verbally abused by her neighbor.
"Haki nakuhurumia sana. Wakati wasichana wenzako wanafurahia maisha kule nje wewe hapa umetwikwa majukumu mazito hadi unaparara. Washurutishe wazazi wako wakupeleke chuo kikuu kabla uzeekee kijijini," the mother was quoted as saying.
After being verbally abused, the mother's husband rushed to the scene and began scolding the neighbor.
