Before becoming a celebrated DJ, Mo had to do various hustles to make ends meet. He worked as a dancer, earning Ksh 500 per album, and even conducted buses from Rongai to the CBD.
Speaking to Mpasho, DJ Mo revealed his past life, saying, 'I used to be a dancer where we used to be paid Ksh 500 per album in those river road albums.' He also shared his experience as a conductor, stating, 'I was also a conductor, I would be given squads to pick money from passengers from Rongai to the CBD.'
Mo's story is not unique, as many Kenyan celebrities have had to do menial jobs to survive before achieving fame. Octopizzo, for instance, worked as a 'mjengo' guy and an electrician in Industrial Area, while Larry Madowo sold tea to raise funds for his family's upkeep.
