On July 5, 2019, retired Captain Kungu Muigai paid tribute to the late Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore at All Saints Cathedral.
During his tribute, Captain Kungu Muigai shared an account of Bob Collymore's ruracio negotiations, where he sought the hand of his love, Wambui Kamiru.
According to Captain Kungu Muigai, Bob Collymore was accompanied by a team of negotiators, led by Attorney General Githu Muigai.
As recounted by Captain Kungu Muigai, Bob Collymore instructed his team to 'do everything the in-laws wanted,' telling Attorney General Githu Muigai, 'Whatever they want, just do it. Don't mince words.'
When Bob Collymore eventually received Wambui's hand in marriage, Captain Kungu Muigai said he was overjoyed, 'The man lit up like a Christmas tree.'
Bob Collymore's love for Wambui was evident, and he even asked his 'boys' to stand by her after his death, saying, 'Stay together, stand by Wambui.'
