Kenyan consumers have been eagerly awaiting the launch of Huawei's Y9 Prime 2019 smartphone, and their wait is almost over. The device will be available in retail stores across the country from Saturday, July 6.

According to Huawei, over 1,000 devices were pre-ordered through various partners, including Jumia Online and Lipa Later, during a one-week pre-order period. This impressive response is seen as a sign of consumers' continued confidence in Huawei devices.

As part of the launch celebrations, Huawei will hold a public event at Two Rivers Mall on Saturday, followed by mall activations at other locations, including Hub Karen, TRM, Sarit Centre Mall, and The Junction Mall.

Notable Kenyan celebrities, such as King Kaka, Nick Mutuma, Jaymo Jiwe Msee, and Njugush, are expected to attend the launch event.

Speaking about the pre-order success, Huawei Mobile Country President, Steven Li, expressed gratitude to their partners and highlighted the consumers' confidence in Huawei products.

“We would like to appreciate all our partners who ensured we meet the target during the pre-order period. We are also glad that consumers are still confident in our products as based on the number of pre-orders made across the country,” Li said.

At the launch event, participants will have the opportunity to play various games, with a winner walking away with a brand-new Huawei Y9 Prime 2019.
