On Thursday, July 4, 2019, Molo Member of Parliament Kuria Kimani made headlines after showing up to a meeting drunk, leaving his constituents in shock.
The meeting, convened to discuss how to deal with the alcohol menace, was attended by area residents who were expecting their MP to provide guidance and support.
However, Mr. Kimani's actions fell short of expectations as he had to be practically hoisted over the fence and supported to his seat before being ushered away from the venue.
"We were surprised by what happened; our MP, who we look up to to help us deal with alcohol, came here drunk out of his wits," said one of the area residents.
"He has brought us shame. We used to love him but his actions today left us in shock," added another.
