Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris remains resolute in her pursuit of truth and justice, despite Governor Mike Sonko's baseless accusations. On July 3, 2019, Passaris took to social media to declare that she would not be intimidated by Sonko's false claims.

Passaris's determination stems from Sonko's June 2019 claim that she had been demanding money from him since her election to office in 2017. The county boss had mentioned several instances where he claims Passaris had asked him for money.

However, Passaris has consistently maintained her innocence, challenging Sonko to provide evidence to support his claims. In a letter dated June 12, 2019, Passaris requested the National Assembly to clarify whether she was part of the delegation to the 62nd Commission of the Status of Women (CSW) Conference in March 2018.

On Tuesday, the National Assembly Clerk, Michael Sialai, responded to Passaris's letter, confirming that she was not part of the delegation and had not received any per diem for the conference.

Passaris has vowed to continue gathering evidence to clear her name and teach Sonko a lesson. In a Twitter post, she stated, 'I'm not letting up. I'll go full throttle and get the Governor to learn to be respectful of others. Leaders have an obligation to lead by example. I intend to serve our citizens without any side shows.'

Passaris has also emphasized the importance of upholding the standards of leadership and integrity, as set out in Chapter 6 of the Constitution. She has vowed to use the Cybercrimes Act as a shield and defender against Sonko's malicious and false information.
