Dennis Itumbi, in a replying affidavit, has made a comeback in the ongoing investigation into the alleged assassination plot against the Deputy President.
Itumbi pleaded with the court to release him on condition that he surrenders his phone for forensic auditing and keeps off the WhatsApp group under investigation.
He argued that he has gathered credible evidence to prove the assassination plot and refused to disclose his sources, citing journalistic ethics.
Itumbi informed the detectives during interrogations that he has a videotape and audio to affirm the allegations of series of meetings at La Mada, where a group of cabinet secretaries allegedly discussed the plot to kill the Deputy President.
Confidently, Itumbi told the court that he was ready and willing to avail the video to the court, stating, "I request to play the audio-video in court. In camera."
Itumbi pleaded with the court not to allow him to be confined at Kamukunji Police Station, citing fear for his life, as he believed the station held hardcore criminals who could cause harm to him.
He mentioned Brian Bera, the intruder who was shot at Statehouse, as a possible person who could cause harm to him.
