Kenya Airways, once the pride of Africa, has fallen on hard times. A recent trip with the airline left a traveler feeling ashamed and questioning the state of the national carrier.

The experience began when the traveler visited the lavatory on board and was met with a sight that was more akin to a matatu than an airplane. One of the seats was unusable due to the absence of a cushion, and the area resembled a store, with passengers' blankets dumped haphazardly.

After arriving home, the traveler contacted Kenya Airways to express their concerns and was met with a response that seemed to downplay the issue. The airline apologized for the inconvenience and promised to look into the matter, but the traveler remained unconvinced.

The incident was not an isolated one. Kenya Airways has been struggling for years, with a loss of Sh27 billion in 2012 being the biggest loss ever recorded in Kenya's history. The airline's decline has been attributed to poor management, and it is clear that something needs to be done to restore the national carrier to its former glory.

As the airline continues to struggle, the terminals at Nairobi's airport have also fallen into disrepair. The lack of attention to detail and the general apathy towards customer service are a stark reminder of the airline's decline.
