On Thursday, a touching tribute was paid to the late Bob Collymore, Safaricom CEO, by a young student named Chepkorir, who referred to him as her 'father.'

During the Memorial service, Chepkorir shared a heartwarming story of how their unlikely father-daughter relationship began.

She recalled their first meeting at the Kenya Conservatoire of Music in Nairobi, where she approached him as he was heading to his car and introduced herself as a student at the academy, requesting him to visit the school.

According to Chepkorir, Bob Collymore surprisingly agreed to visit the school, and that marked the beginning of their special bond.

She shared that after their initial meeting, she looked for him and asked if he lived in a cave because he couldn't be found on social media, to which he replied by giving her his contacts.

As their relationship grew, Chepkorir would often receive emails from Bob Collymore, which always ended with a message of encouragement, urging her to focus on improving her grades.

On Father's Day, Chepkorir wrote to Bob Collymore, expressing her gratitude for being a father figure in her life, and he replied by saying that it was the most heartfelt message he had ever received.
