Published on September 28, 2021, Paris St Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has played down media reports of a spat between Kylian Mbappe and Neymar during their 2-0 Ligue 1 win over Montpellier at the weekend.
According to French media, Mbappe was unhappy with Neymar for not passing the ball to him, and the France international was seen voicing his displeasure to a teammate on the bench.
However, Pochettino downplayed the incident, saying, "They're fantastic guys. These things happen."
He added that top players like Mbappe and Neymar are competitors who want to win and help the team achieve, and that they may have spoken to each other about the issue.
"I have spoken to them individually," Pochettino said. "They may have also spoken to each other and there have been photos of them enjoying themselves in training."
He also addressed the recent controversy surrounding Lionel Messi's substitution in their league win over Olympique Lyonnais, saying that Messi was expected to play a part against Manchester City but would need time to adjust to life in Paris.
