On July 4, 2019, hundreds gathered to pay their respects to the late Bob Collymore, with his widow Wambui Kamiru leading the way in a vibrant floral dress and white sweater.
Wambui's message to mourners, conveyed by Jeff Koinange, was clear: 'Don't wear black tomorrow for the memorial. We are not mourning Bob, we are celebrating him,' she said.
Bob Collymore had specified his wishes before his passing, including a cremation within 24 hours at Kariokor Centre and a modest ceremony. His family respected his wishes, and the memorial service reflected his personality.
Photos of Wambui Kamiru at the memorial service show her in a variety of colorful outfits, a testament to her husband's spirit.
