On July 4, 2019, Kenya lost a beloved leader, Bob Collymore, who left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him.

Collymore's friends, a group of top CEOs in Kenya, including Joshua Oigara, Lamin Manjang, Bharat Thakrar, and Peter Kenneth, recently gathered on JK Live, a show hosted by Jeff Koinange on Citizen TV, to share their memories of the departed friend.

Joshua Oigara, CEO of KCB, described Collymore as 'the most genuine and down-to-earth person I have ever met.' He added that Collymore was 'full of love and very hopeful,' never letting any situation discourage him.

Peter Kenneth, a veteran politician, shared that Collymore had an 'infectious attractive manner of making friends' and was glad to have been one of those he called close friends.

Lamin Manjang, former CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, recalled meeting Collymore in 2014 and being invited to dinner, where he was made to feel special. He added that Collymore's ability to influence and lead a company from afar was 'very extraordinary.'

Bharat Thakrar, CEO of Scangroup, described Collymore as 'focused on getting everything right' and having a 'very high bar for himself.' He added that Collymore was 'very humble, pleasant, and with a very warm handshake.'
