July 4, 2019 - A recent Instagram Q&A session by Rue Baby, Akothee's daughter, has sparked controversy after she revealed her dating preferences.
During the session, Rue Baby asked her followers to recommend a man to go on vacation with, stating that he 'better be handsome.'
One fan suggested Otile Brown, but Rue Baby quickly ruled him out due to his skin color, saying, 'I don’t do lightskins plus nitapigwa na mwenyewe na sina uwezo.'
Her comment sparked anger from one fan, who sent her a direct message, saying, 'You don’t do lightskins? Wow! That is so disrespectful and stereotypic, does that mean we are like disabled or something? SMH.'
Rue Baby defended her remark, saying, 'Don’t get it twisted, we all have our preferences. Just because I love black coffee does not mean white coffee is poison.'
She also referenced a previous interview with Pulse Magazine, where she expressed her crush on Sean Andrew, but later ruled him out due to her followers' comments that she was too dark for him.
